I think dual recs shine with lead playing and single notes. Unless you're really working to control the low end it's just too "wooly". Still a no for me, dawg.

I love the 2 channel Rectifiers and I totally understand your opinion. I have began with a Rev G, and it sounds really fat and loose, very scooped and dark, it definetely needs a great boost and a 10 band EQ in my opinion. Since I do it (like every amp I have), I can extract awesome tones. But, I have discovered heaven since I have get a Rev F wich is more open, way more low mid grunt, very punchy and aggressive. Boosting it is awesome too. Even if they are similar they have big différencies to me and I am totally in love with that Rev F, doesn’t mean that I don’t like my Rev G anymore. Both are great amps. But even if I love these amps, you have to boost it and depending what version you have it can be very hard so dial in, wich is a shame for the price it costs.

I have to say, I bought a Dinky js 7 strings, and compared it to an american Jackson Dominion with JBs in it. they sound so close to each others!! the difference was in the dynamics of the pickups.. it's like the jackson pickup couldn't play quiet to heavy. then the other things is the quality over time.... after years, the bridge pickup stopped working properly, it's like I had a serious ground issue in the bridge pickup so I can't use it anymore.... so, you save money now, but on the long term... you will have to spend money again to make it work again :)

Listen....think....if you get the combo version you not only have a Bogner all tube power amp..you also have a vintage 30 celestion in and all plywood cabinet. Why wouldn't you buy one for around 300 bucks and just run your current modeler through the effects loop.

I have had many Jacksons and ESP guitars with loose unglued nuts. Not the 200 dollar ones either.

I've heard some ruthless Dual Recs live, but when I finally get around to asking the artist which witchcraft lives on his board, it's always a great distortion pedal utilizing the beefy power section and not the amp shining through. Plenty of people make great sounds with them, but I hate them under my own fingers.

The Jackson JS22-7 I got is absolutely horrible, first, I used a special finish cloth to wipe the smudges and it actually scratched the super weak finish. The frets “fret out” have the worst fret buzz on every fret and every string throughout the whole neck, I tried to take the truss rod cover off, and the screws were insanely tight to the point where I almost stripped them, I added relief to the neck, because there was absolutely no relief and the string still buzz like crazy and kills my resonance. I’ve used some pretty nice cheap guitars in my day, but this Jackson was absolutely the worst guitar I’ve ever had, to the point where it scares me from buying a High priced or “quality” Jackson, just for the fact that they would put their name on something so horrible.

Dang- I used to wonder why people would bash on Mesa gear after gigs I'd play, but it sounds like there's a loud contingent of Mesa users / owners that are basically like BMW owners / drivers of the guitar world.

All these tones just sound like they have a blanket thrown over them 😑

FUCKING SLAYER!!!! LMAO Dude🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, that shit got old when I was fucking 16. I've owned a LOT of amps and I do miss my old Rectumfryer. I've owned a few 5150 III's and I like parts of each and was disappointed by each. I loved the chunk of the recto, YES I had to boost it, but I think the vibe of the Recto always felt like a hard rock amp that you boost into whatever metal area you're aiming for while the 5150 was a METAL amp that was bored when I did anything but death metal on it. The 5150 cut well, but yeah I always got bored with it pretty quickly.

Jackson and both have very good entry level guitars. The Dean Vendetta is a great value.

Awesome vid Taylor, I rode the hate train on the Rectos for years. Once day I saw on for a steal and I was in the moodo for some self loathing and bad financial decisions. So I bought it. Not I really love the "uniquness". What you said at @16:49 is 100% why it just kills in the studio!

Also this video makes me really consider checking out those synergy modules. They sound pretty sick honestly haha

As someone who firmly believes you can make great music with almost any guitar amp, I totally get the rectifier hype and hate. It has a very distinct big but tight bottom end that sounds different from any other amp I've tried. Palm mutes through a rectifier sound massive. That being said, if you're not into scooped tones, you'll likely need to blend it with a marshall in order to cut through a mix. And is it worth spending 3k on an amp that, 75% of the times, is used basically just to thicken up a JCM800?

I use zoom digital effects and I ONLY Sim two amps: mesa boogie mkii 4x12 for combo amps and monitors, or 5150 for tube amps.

Had an old Vetta combo...didn't stayed too long with me. I was a fan since the beginning, worked many years using a Pod xt floor unit. Sold almost everything after some settlebacks. Still have my pod 2.0 working 100%. Thanks to your videos I recently bought an Ampero II stomp.

Who tunes a guitar down to C? Taylor Danley, Thats He. I guess youll always have low action but as far as Reviewing a guitar, We still have no idea how this will play or sound for 90% of the viewers who will play in standard tuning. I will have to watch another review. Maybe you coulsd start in standard, play some stuff then tell us if the action is crap or not then drop the tuning thru the floor. Also there tutorials on how to setup the springs on a fender style tremolo. The strings and springs tension should equal. Its not too hard to do but after you can tune your guitar, play the hell out of it , come back in a week and theyll still be tuned. Ive been playing for 40 years and just found this out. They can just as easily be set up to be a "Floating Tremolo" so you can pull up a note or two. I thought peeps were fullof it saying they stay in tune cause none of mine did. Nobody is gonna tell you how to do it so ya have to search for it. Theres a couple of good tuts here on the UA-cam. Try it and be amazed

What tuning are you going to. Why not standard? Most new pedal players don't down to triple z.

Hey Taylor. Oregon Steve here. I ran my Chug through a 6505+=effects loop. And a Marshall DSL100&DSL20=effects loop and man, I could not get a high tone out of it at all. Definitely 80's/steel panther tone lol, but nothing like what you're getting. I've been thinking of the nataS for awhile. Currently using a DSL1H/Mesa 2x12/Boss Metal Zone,/Boss EQ7/Boss NS and that's a pretty killer tone that's hard to beat for me.

I personally love Nickelback's heavy tone on the albums Silver Side Up and The Long Road. The Dual Rec sizzle really compliments those guitar riffs.

I bought one of these on Amazon for $199 it was ok, action was not great as expected, within 6 months some of the wiring inside came apart, wasn't even worth paying to get fixed, I just gave it away. I've had two low level Kramers over the years that I used on stage with an Industrial band that never came apart like this guy. I don't expect much from a cheap guitar but this one was a piece of crap.

Everyone's playing style and touch is different, and that affects what gear is best suited to you. What I can say is that you are right about mids being a problem, and you pretty much need something like an OD or externa equalizer of some kind to get around that in most cases.

The common complaints about dialing in a Rectifier often come from 3 types of people: 1) those who think they can just dial the amp in like a Marshall and 2) those who obviously have the wrong idea about what kind of amp it is and who it's for, and 3) those who are trying to dial it in at bedroom volumes without an attenuator. Every video about Rectifiers needs to have a disclaimer: You need to have the loop and master volume up on these amps for them to get rid of the fizz and looseness, and, you can't just mindlessly turn knobs up--you have to sit and listen to what each knob does individually, then go back and start balancing them. Or, just use the manual because it is VERY well-made and informative.

Rectos sound decent boosted, but on their own, they are a complete mess. With that said, I usually boost any high amp when I am playing extended range guitars simply because shelving the low end is a necessary evil at that point. I could totally get by without a boost with either of my main amps (Revv Generator and Engl Savage) if I absolutely had to, because the core tones are already pretty great.

You do one video on Temu how you decided not to work with them and UA-cam is like "Oh, here is commerical for Temu during your video!" Is it irony or bad analytics? Anyways nice video! Give the guitar away next time ..I did it with a couple of cheap axes..gave to kids in need , music charity to keep kids from running the streets
